Merry Christmas 2011

Danielle: Well, another year has come and gone.  It has been a good one, though not too many new things for me. I thought with all of my kids in school beginning in the fall that I would have so much free time to do all the projects that I had planned.  I will let you know when I start that list. It seems like between work, volunteering at the schools and my new calling to teach Sunday School at church that free time does not really happen, but I enjoy being busy and getting involved.  I had a great trip with my sisters and Mom to San Francisco at the beginning of the year.  We had some great family summer trips to Utah, Wyoming, Missouri and California, including some trips up to Disney World, thanks to my nephew, Matt.  We are looking forward to a quiet Christmas at home this year and hope that you all are well and have a wonderful Christmas Season and a Happy New Year!

Vernon: For a year that began with me breaking my right hand (in January), included the most doctor’s visits of my life, and saw me going through back surgery (in October), well, it sure turned out not so bad.
This year I had one of my articles selected to be reprinted and my current book project is in the editorial process.  Hopefully, 2012 will see it published (and me on my way to tenure).
And the most important things remain the same.  I’m so blessed to have a wonderful wife; Danielle is such a blessing to me, always.  My children (for all the buttons they sometimes push) bring me so much happiness.  I wish I could spend all day with them, each day.  I continue to serve as the Young Men’s President at church and love the youth that I work with.  I’m so proud of each of them.   I have wonderful friends, remarkable neighbors (so thoughtful), and excellent, supportive co-workers.  I am deeply blessed.  I wish you all the best at this year’s end and throughout 2012.

It’s Alanna.  I’m 12!!!
It’s not cold here--okay, it is hot.  82 today!
This year I have visited a lot of places like Yellowstone, Legoland, Disney World and Missouri.  I got to see most of my cousins and have tons of fun with them. I received my Faith in God award and started the Young Women program at church. This year I am in 7th grade and in band again. I’m still playing the piano and clarinet. I have also read about 12-15 books this year. I’m also still a Harry Potter fan!  Harry Potter 7, part 2 was EPIC!!!!!

I’m Brennan and I’m 7.  I am in 1st grade and recess is my favorite part of school. My favorite thing to do after school is to play Wii with my little brother and my Dad on the days he is home. I did so many fun things this year I went to Legoland in California, Yellowstone in Wyoming, Lion Country Safari in Palm Beach and went on a Sawgrass airboat ride to see the alligators right by my house. I am looking forward to Christmas!

I love being 5.  When you are 5 you get to go to Kindergarten and do math.  At home I like to play First in Math on the computer.  I am really good at it. My favorite things about this year were Grandma and Grandpa coming for Thanksgiving and going hiking in Yellowstone.  I think the best part of Christmas will be unwrapping all of our presents.  I hope you have a very Merry Christmas! Love, Erik
